Is a MSD coil bad if it leaks oil?

MSD chrome coil, leaks oil from where you plug in the coil wire, is this ok?
Should it have 12 volts to it or a resistor? There are no points. All MSD stuff,
Vette tach drive distributor and 6AL box. Should I send the coil back?
What should I do?

coil leak

i can only answer part of your question. oil should not leak from any coil. if it new let them know . they may want it sent back.

If it's leaking oil it will overheat & short out the rest of the system (Box & all)
If it's in a vette & it's mounted at an angle, do not use a reg oil filled coil with an MSD (An air bubble will be where oil should be causing on ovht)

Install a high vibration (Epoxy filled) coil

Send it to me, I like to wire them to 220 and watch them blow!

hmm... wire it up to a 220 line? and it really explodes? how exactly do you do that?

Very carefully.....! :D

ChevelleSS_LS6 07-21-2005 08:47 PM

how big is the explosion? We should send a box of em and instructions on how to wire them to 220 to the terrorists. They'd blow themselves up "testing" them.

wow, an easy solution. now let's get the job done and bring our boys home.
