I have an msd ignition. the main power to it comes straight off the battery, but there is a wire that turns it off and on connected
to switched 12v. I hooked it up to the fuse block on one of the "fused ignition" terminals (to right of fuse on face of fuse block) my problem is when i use the other available fused ignition terminal (there are 2) , my msd wont fire the motor. I tried switching the terminal the msd is hooked up to. still works but the msd will not work if the other available terminal is used for anything. any thoughts????? |

I had a similar problem in my 67 El Camino and it turned out to be corrosion on the feed wire into the fuse block for the ignition circuit. Everything worked fine with nothing added to the extra ignition circuit but when I plugged into it .......it when dead. Took the fuse block loose from the firewall and discovered the wires attach with slip on solderless connectors and they were loose and rusted. Cleaned the connections and this time addes some solder to make sure the connection was good and haven't had a problem since.
