MSD Streetfire ignition box wiring help

Ok i have a msd streetfire ignition box. My distributor im using is a skipwhite small base hei distributor. It only has two wires coming out of it and ill be running a msd blaster coil. Do i just hook the two wires coming out of the distributor to the magnetic pickup wires coming out of the box? Or is there some tricky way of wiring it to this distributor.

here is the distributor i bought, there are no instructions for wiring it with a ignition box. I emailed them and they just said the red wire goes to coil positive and the black wire goes to coil negative, as well as a hot wire to the coil positive..

You have instructions w/the MSD box. If you don't have them you might find info- http://www.msdignition.com/forum/

i have the instructions but they dont have an exact diagram for a skipwhite distributor...i dnt kno if i need to follow the one for a msd billet distributor, or the one for a hei distributor or etc...just asking opinions on how to wire it based on the info i gave one..There cant be too many options with only two wires coming out of the dizzy.

Wiring diagram you need to follow is the one for the Pertronix Ignitor distributor. The Skip White distributor has the same type internal amplifier/trigger as the Pertronix does .

I've used this style distributor before, with a 2 wire hook-up there is only one possible way to correctly wire it up. The Crane XR-1 points replacement conversion is also the same way.

The are wrong, if you wire it like a mag trigger distributor it will do nothing, because it will have no power to the internal module.

All they do is sell this distributor, but they really know nothing about it.

You can wire it like a mag trigger set-up if you want, just to satisfy your curiosity.

need help with this again...i wired it like the pertronix distributor and all the car done was crank for 1 second then cut right back off, over and over, so i took the streetfire box off and wired the dizzy red wire to the coil + and black wire to the coil -, and then a 12v ignition to the coil + and the car runs good. Is there something i could have messed up or is my ignition box bad?

thanx

out of memory as im at work...orange and black wires out of box went to positive and negative of msd coil. small red out of box went to 12v switched power and red wire out of dizzy. white wire out of box went to black wire out of dizzy. Large red out of box to 12v, large black out of box to ground. I triple check my wiring over and over again and im sure i had it wired just like the pertronix diagram says. the car would fire for just a sec then the led light on the box would go off and it would die..with the key on and the car not started the led light on the box was on all the time.

Your wiring seems correct, just wanted to be sure. Sounds like maybe an incompatability between the MSD box and the output signal from the distributor. I haven't dealt with MSD's new Street-Fire box so I don't know what the light indicator means, maybe a call to them would be the best idea.
