Is the owner willing to change the torque converter and rear gears?
Does he really want a take no prisoners racey idle in a otherwise stock motor?

If so use this Howards dirt cam.
Howards Cams 112751-06 - Howards Cams Oval Track Lift Rule Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshafts - Overview -

Degree the cam in properly and install on a advanced 100 intake C/L
Get some howards valve springs too.
Requires a 3500+ stall converter and should use 4.56+ gears in a truck.
The distributor will need to be recurved. Lock out the mechanical advance system.
set the locked fixed timing at 34-36 deg BTDC.
Carb power valve 3.5 or 4.5.

Very rough racey idle. low manifold vacuum at idle.
bad on gas but sounds killer and will go like hell with the right converter and gears.
The taller the tires the steeper the gears need to be.
Not for the faint of heart.
Will not work woith a stock converter.
