muffler help
hi,
I have a 4cyl. s-10 and i started noticing it getting louder and having a problem that sounded like it was missing in low rpm. So i got under the truck and banged on the muffler and could hear what i think was the insides rattling on the bottom of the muffler. Now the loud factor im not worried about b/c its not that bad in the truck, and i cant afford a new muffler at this point, so i plan on leaving it there, my question is this/ is it ok to leave it as is with the stuff all in the muffler or should i remove it and clean it all out? Are thier any side affects to leaving it? And could that possibly be causing the uneven sound in low rpm that Ive experienced. Any answers you guys have would be appreciated. Anthony

pop the muffler off and see if it runs better. If not check the cat converter for being plugged.
Cats don't cause a miss..... unless they have been plugged a long time and have ruined the valves. Search elsewhere for a miss source. Last edited by xntrik : 01-31-2006 at 10:58 AM. |
