Muffler types

Other than the noise factor, is there any advantage to running straight through muff's over turbo type as far as horsepower? I seems to me that going through deep mud holes and mud bog's turbo's with the flat front would grab more mud and create drag where as bullet style glass packs wouldn't.
My turbo's are at the same level as the drive shaft and one wouldn't think that they would come into play but mud bogs are deep and everything underneath the truck grabs mud. I'm trying to make the bottom more slick to help with the overall distance I can run in stock class including a skid plate bolted to the cross member from the transfer case on forward.

Good point you bring up, but if I were this concerned with it I`d run straight pipes into a X then exit them out the back with resonator tips.
