Muncie ID #'s

Hey there,
Can anyone tell me the number for a M-22?
for verification that it IS the 22 and not a 21
or 20.
OR where can I look. Going to look at a 64 Chev trk
with a Corvette 327 hooked to a Muncie M-22 sounds like
the real deal, but you know how it is...I want to know for sure.
I tell if it is a Muncie by looking but not what version.
thank you

trans

Those number guides are great if the transmission was never hacked.. But all the Muncie parts are intercangable. So you can install all M-20 parts into a M-22 case and no one would be the wiser..

If the transmission is a 1970 or later the case code ending number will be a "C"

A=M-20
B=M-21
C=M-22

Also the input shaft should have no rings.
