muncie question
ok guys , i did a search and couldn't come up with much. i'm putting a 64-65 m20 into my chevelle and this is the first manual trans i've ever worked with. my questions are , how much gear lube does this thing take , along with what weight? and where is the best place to fill it through? sorry if these are stupid questions but i'm a complete rookie when it comes to manual trannies.thanks.

thanks vince ,
ok , the plug that i have is about 3" up from the bottom , on the passenger side , i'm assuming this is the one i want? i hope so because it's the only one i have. so if this is correct , then only the bottom third of the tranny has lube in it? do you think 2 quarts would cover it? |

I'd get a gallon and change the rear end oil also. After you run that tranny some, check the level again.

i just put a rear end in it about a month ago , but other wise that would be a good idea.
