Muncie Tailshaft Question

Hey I was in the process of removing the retainer pin that hold in the reverse shift lever and managed to crack the tail housing. The crack is in the part where the reverse shift lever goes into the case. This shouldn't be a stressed part of the case but my question is should I try and find someone to weld this or can I use JB weld on it and silicon it to prevent leaks. Its cast aluminum so I would have to find some one to weld it.

Bring it to a machine shop and have them weld it them check bore where the shaft comes so that a new seal will properly fit. Lou
