hi
i own a 67 camaro which was originally a 6 cylinder car. now it has a 327 with a muncie 4speed. i found a bunch of numbers on housing but still cant determine if it is a rock crusher.when i bought the car i was told it was, but would like to find out for sure. it really seems to have a loud whine in low and second. the numbers on the housing are as follows 3950306 946797 us patentno.3088336 3857584 3925660 p9b12a thanks in advance |

3925660, this number indicates it's a case that is used on a 68 or 69 transmission
p9b12a this number in conjunction with the above casting number make the trans a 69 m20 P = muncie 9 = 1969 b= febuary 12 date and last the a is for a m20 A= m20 B= m21 C= m22 Now the problem come in is if someone changed all the internal parts from a m22 into this case. Look at the input and see how many rings are around it. 1= m21 2 = m20 none = m22 I am betting it has 2 rings. Keith |
