Muncies only come with 2 different input spline counts, both available on 2.20 and 2.54 but I don't think on 2.52 first gear trans. The splines on the 10 spline look like a 46 Chev axle splines whereas the 26 spline look more like a 9 inch axle. Can you remember what yours look like?
Some folk will tell you that a box with stud & nut shift lever retainers are all fine(26) spline but thats bull. I ran an M22 (2.20, 1 inch layshaft, r/h speedo cable, big synchro's and 20 deg gears) with s & n and it was coarse spline. All 26 spline left the factory with a t400 rear yoke, 10 spline with late p/g,t350 splines but who knows what's been thrown together 33 years later.
