Wow! Those girls can play. I particularly like the first one, being a bassist myself. It made me think of this great bass player, Stuart Hamm. I know a bunch of you like your country, so here's his composition Country Music - A Night In Hell

Yeah, my youngest son is a bassist and he bought all of Stuart's Video instruction CDs - - - we are both Victor Wooten fans also but I sure like Miss Tal's technique also. The first time I ever saw her she was with Jeff Beck and right then I knew she was the real deal.

Yup I"m Country

JR mentioned that a lot of us were country music fans and I have been one pretty much all my life. Here are two giants in the business, both great voices, doing a song that Larry Gatlin wrote called "Bitter they are harder they fall". Gene Watson has been called "the singers singer" in Country Music circles and this is unrehearsed and winging it.

County Music is basically all about the story (aka lyrics) and these are as good as it gets. IMHO

"She caught me lyin'
then she caught a train
I caught a fever
standing out in the rain"

Chris, they are part of a Musical that was based on this:

Million Dollar Quartet is set on Dec. 4, 1956, "where an auspicious twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley together," according to production notes. "The place was Sun Records' storefront studio in Memphis. The man who made it happen was Sam Phillips, the 'Father of Rock 'n' Roll,' who discovered them all. The four young musicians united for the only time in their careers for an impromptu recording that has come to be known as one of the greatest rock 'n' roll jam sessions of all time."

There is a Elvis impersonator named, Cody Ray Slaughter, who was part of all of this resurrection that is probably the best I've ever seen. Here is a recent performance from him.

Seen Issak a few times, first guy I ever waited outside the stage exit to get his autograph. If you want a treat get Baja Sessions for some great acoustic stuff. "Forever blue" was written after his fiance broke up with him. Talk about a downer, every song is a serious downer. But so well done, a good listen.

I guess my age probably causes this song to be one of those "swallow hard" tunes.

CHRIS ISAAK performs LEAH.wmv - YouTube
By the way, I will let him slide for screwing up the first line of the song. "Here I go, from the hut to the boat to the sea, for Leah". Is how it is suppose to go.

I saw Roy in concert too.
