Remembering a Legend - Mickey Newbury

He wrote many awesome songs like:
"American Trilogy"
"Sweet Memories"
"What Condition is my Condition in"
"After all these Years"
"Makes me wonder if I ever said Goodbye"
plus many others and here is his last performance
and you can tell that the Mickey of days past is no
longer there. There's one part that will grab your
heart strings if you're a fan.

Stray Cats - Rumble in Brixton (2004).avi - YouTube
Seen them a few times, Brian and his Orchestra a few times and even Lee Rocker solo which was a sad affair, in a tiny club in Berkeley where I counted 28 people! Seen Brian solo with his rock a billy band, he is my absolute favorite entertainer. Rumble in Brighton is one of the best rock songs of all time, it can go along side anything by any of the greats from the fifties or sixties, it is one of the best ever!

And by the way, that Stray Cat video is an hour and a half long, put it on and enjoy while you are surfing the web. EXCELLENT concert, those guys are entertainers!

Thanks for posting that Jester, GREAT video, I really am enjoying it.

I'm a child of the '50s and '60s... but that damned music gene never got enough!

I even learned to love my kid's music! Here's an "absolutely infectious" eighties song that I fell hard for...

I think when talking the greatest artist of all time Elton John MUST be mentioned. Countless hits.

He doesn't look the part, does he?

My step-son just turned me onto this kid and, even tho he looks like a nerdy version of my neighbors kid, he can really lay it down - both vocally and instrumentally. Tell me what Y'all think? Em

I couldn't find the Jammin' thread, so I'll put it here.

I spent 3 hours rehearsing with a new drummer today for the funky thing I'm doing & he posted a small snippet of one of the tunes on YouTube.

The guitarist has a wisdom tooth problem & the keys player was teaching, so it's just drums & bass to a tune called Hoochie Coo Chickie.
