Good music, Em. I have XM radio, I listen to 2 stations almost exclusively, Deep Tracks and Bluesville. Deep Tracks has music I have never heard, living in Minnesota's great north, we didn't get a lot of the "hippie" music. Some I had forgotten, great stuff. I would like to play some for the younger set, I think it would blow their minds that it was performed 40 years ago.
Blues= John Lee Hooker, my favorite of all. There is another genre of music I am learning at the ripe old age of going to be 60 in a few days, I just never was exposed to it as a youngster but enjoying it so much now.
Here's a great one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2mh...eature=related

this one gave me shivers.

Mz Etta gave me chill bumps and watery eyes.
Such a singer and such a loss - my oldest step-son went to see her in Vegas and she couldn't finish the concert and they gave people their money back - - - - so sad to see such an artist end up like that. I also like Koko Taylor and Irma Thomas' version of that old song.

It's funny what songs make some people cry and others don't see it. That's the way with me on this one - - - - I tear up everytime. 50 wooden nickels to anyone that can tell me whose playing pedal steel in this cut !

Your wooden nickels are on their way - - - yeah right !
Jerry was an appreciator of almost all kinds of music and I am told he could hold his own on the 5 string banjo too.

when i was younger i always had really loud stereo systems in all my cars and used to goto spl drag racing competitions my last one would do 152 db inside the car.

to give u an idea that would drown out a 747 jet at takeoff

now that im older and wiser i still like my music loud but at a much more reasonable level

some ppl can understand the lyrics no problem and others just cant i have no idea what it is , maybe its just caus ei grew up with the stuff and always listened to it

LOL, Same here From military service to tuning race cars my ears ring all the time and my hearings shot! But I do like some heavy metal like "Manowar" I can understand em and they have lyrics I really like and the music is great My daughters turned me on to them a few years ago!

My sons and fellow hotrodders laugh when they come to visit because I'm 66 and I play em loud in the garage and my wife yells out the front door for me to turn it down

Here's one for you blues guys. I heard a song the other day, I think it might have been B.B. King and a gal, singing about having bacon and pancakes for breakfast but then nothin for Sunday morning but they still have each other, something like that. A kick butt song, I've been searching YouTube and google for hours, help me out please.

I've been browsing for an hour and I haven't come up with anything either, Dan. I did pass it on to some of my "blues experts/friends" to see if they had anything to offer.

Here's a little Susan to end Daylight Savings Time with.

I think The female singer was Koko Taylor. I can't remember the song title either .The only reason I still subscribe to Sirius Radio is for BB King's station. That's my shop music. I love the Blues!

Manowar is so awesome. The lyrics are pure cheese, but that's why I love them. David Allen Coe was mentioned a while back. I grew up listening to him, good artist although not a huge fan of his more "questionable" stuff.

My Dad loves David Allen Coe, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Hank Jr., and all that other stuff as well as the Metallica, Zeppelin, Sabbath, etc. I love Outlaw Country but Heavy Metal is my home. Nothing makes me more excited than Thrash's polka drum beat that's on edge of falling apart. I like some other stuff too. A little more punk than thrash, but these guys get the point across:
