Narrowed spindles?? How about narrowed (shortened) A-frames.. Several places.. Fatman, Heidts, maybe even Speedway.

Yeah, I might end up sending my Heidt's tubular upper and lowers back, but I have heard (only heard) a couple of times about narrowed spindles. See, I am using stock (out of a Mustang II) spindles, and it seems that I need maybe 1/2" more clearance. I have gone through three sets of wheels/tires combos and finally have the best setup in regards to that, but again I need just a hair more... I am wandering if it is the stock spindles themselves. I called Heidt's tech. line, the person I spoke to there did not know. He said to send my uppers and lowers back, pay the restocking fee and they would send me narrowed ones (which are 5/8" narrower) - that would work, but trying to find out more about spindles before going through the trouble...

any more info???

Nope, I have the short A frames on my old Anglia. Still hangs the tires out a bit. Even with an offset (1" to inside) rim.

I should let you know that they do not hit inner fender right away, I have a little less that what I would call a descent turning radius. Looks like I might have to go with narrowed uppers & lowers. Might go ahead with air bags for a better ride since I will be tearing down...
