Your newer car is a lot more refined, nicer ride quality and much lower cabin noise with nice interior comfort. That's where the newer car shines.

That's probably true since the sbc's are so cheap to build and you can have much more displacement.

He actually has more money into his car, he has hinted he paid about $60,000, not including the 383 upgrade. He pulled the original 350 motor. The car is a matching number car. I just can't understand why he takes it so personal. There is a 1987(?) Buick GN in our car club and on any given day, either one of us is the quickest. It does not bother me that I get my a?? handed to me on occasion. If it really bothered me that much, I would do a pulley swap and race gas, once again, we all lose at one time or another...

My neighbor with the nice Z28 came over today and we started to talk about engines. During our conversation, he had mentioned he purchased his 383 crate engine from Edelbrock and that it was a "Limited edition with 460 HP". I did not realize Edelbrock made this engine. He then goes on to tell me that he is thinking about a 200 shot of nitrous and he wants a rematch. Again, what is the big deal, he is really upset about his car getting beat. I guess my neighbor does not know much about supercharges. I guess I could put on a smaller pulley and down load my 100 octane tune, or the 110 tune if it gets serious. LOL

What, then he would beat me, (LOL). I almost went with a Hellion turbo set up, but decided on the Kenne Bell. If I roadraced the Mach more, I definately would have choosen the Turbo, but it is mostly street driven, so the positive displacement supercharger for it's torque was the right choice for me. I can't belive some of the younger guys in my car club that are running turbo set up's on there Mach's and Terminators. These guys are pushing 800-1000rwhp, it is just insane. Of course these guys are rich spoiled kids, LOL.
