I have seen a lot of discussions talking about installing a Mustang II kit. My question is does anybody have any advice as to where to find info on the install of an original Mustang II front end into a 1965 Mustang?
If it was my '65 I'd just install a few chosen Shelby parts and big disk brakes.
The car would handle better and stop just as good with that setup than if you went through all the gyrations of installing a Mustang II IFS. Then that's me.
I know it's been done but unfortunately I have no info on it.
I am also installing it for the power rack set-up. I want this to be a car that we can just jump in and take out, so I think that the power steering and the disk brakes will make a big difference. Plus, I got the whole set-up for a steal.
I do not think adapting an OEM M II front end into a 65 Mustang would be a very good ideal and many others think the same way because it is not being done. In my opinion, the torque box/quasi frame rails are not strong enough for this. Fatmans and other kit companies have done a lot of work to adapt R&P steering to the early Mustangs, but do not offer a M II kit per se.
