Mustang II p/s rack

I have a question regarding the lines on a Mustang II power steering rack. On the metal lines, can rubber lines be used instead of the steel lines? Is there too much pressure for rubber lines? The reason I ask is, with my project, I am cramped for space using the metal lines.

I wouldn't use rubber just because of the pressure, when you build these things, where there's a will there's a way.

You can use Braided Hose with Teflon lining. Similar to what's used for Hydro Boost Brake etc...setups or have some Hoses made at a Hydraulics Supply House which may be cheaper.
