Mustang II power rack rebuild

Has anyone rebuilt there original mustang II power rack themselves, and is it worth it? Are there upgraded units that are better than the originals that are reasonably priced. I'm not sure what year this rack is. Also, I'm using a 1994 lt1 motor in my 59 rambler American, what sort of compatibility issues will I have with the type of pump used on this motor. Thanks for your help Ed.

I NEVER buy when there is the slightest chance I can restore a junk yard part myself. I enjoy the process more than the result I guess. And that leave the peanuts for me to eat!!

Learning factor

There is also the learning factor to consider when you do your own thing..once you have done it now you are the guy that knows.. :D

First time around can be a bit of heartache :smash: to get the proper tools and such but then I have found that investment pays off..

Yep. I can now have a 100% perfect condition MII power rack for junk yard price (+ $15) plus powder coating, polished aluminum or whatever finish I want. Polished OD auto trannys cost me $50 for the core plus a rebuild kit and shift kit & misc repair parts, usually way under $400. That, plus the satisfaction of DIY.
