Do you have to have them? Junk yard parts would be the best start. Unless you plan on some type of concours resto job, any small block of that year would work. If I knew you a year back, I would have sent you all the stuff off my Malibu!

Oh, sorry girl, if you were down here I could direct you towards some junk yards. There are so many in the valley. I think there is a Sacto Recycler or a newspaper that you could post a parts wanted. I'd look into helrazr and Madd's idea of searching the junkyard's there. Usually if I can't find something at Auto Zone, etc, I call PAW. You can give them a shot. http:www.pawengineparts.com

Heres what you do.Put on a set of Hooker long tube headers leave um open.Put the nastiest cam with the worst idle in it put a little oil in the tubes.Shoepolish your rear and side windows with the words "SMOG THIS" and ride through the city windows down finger waving out the window with NHRA contigency plates in the license plate holders.
Thats bullshat that you have to still smog a car you can't get parts for anymore.Whats the first year required to smog in California???Will 1978 eventualy become exemt from smog??

Unfortunately, California has been smogging cars since the '60s and '78 is in the peak of bolt-on crap to qualify. California rules are such that a car can pass tail pipe emissions tests with flying colors but if it has one bolt that isn't original equipment, the car fails. NOVAGIRL, you will need to go spend a great afternoon in my favorite place in the world - the junkyard!
