Are my big block Chevy pistons installed correctly?

I just installed my pistons in my 402 BBC today. They are the stock pistons that came in the engine. I bought it tore down so I'm not familiar with the piston configuration. This is also my first BBC build, I've done several smallblocks.

I noticed on the inside of the pistons four of them say left side and the other four say right. The rods are also numbered 1-8. After installing the pistons in the bores I noticed four holes in the tops of the pistons are above the dome and the other four are below the dome. I'm not sure what to make of this or what they holes are for. I would have thought all the holes would be the same. All of the valve reliefs in the domes are facing the same way.

I took pictures of both banks and I'm hoping you guys can tell me if they are installed right.

Thanks for your time

i would think the easiest way to tell is to look at the rods. you said they were numbered (most of them are) but flip the engine over and look at the rods on the crank. the stamped numbers should be facing out, so you can read them. if you cant read the numbers (they are on the inside) then there are in wrong. good luck with your build, i myself just finished with my first BBC build. and boy was is worth it in the end.

Thanks for the replies guys. The numbers on the rods are all facing outward.

Everything appears right, then I'll proceed with the build.

Thanks again everyone!
