Hi, I have a heavily modified 1959 chevy apache truck. It has a small block 350 and I just put in a new Jegs th350 transmisssion. I had the drive shaft balanced and new u-joints put in. When I put the drive shaft back on, I noticed that the slip yoke only goes into the transmisson about 3/4". It seems like it should go in a little further, but I'm not sure? The previous transmission was also a th350 and the dimensions are the same. I test drove it and it seems to work fine, but I would hate to mess up the new trans I put in...

If you're saying it only goes in 3/4" with weight on all 4 wheels, the answer is yes its too short. It should go in until its about an inch from bottoming out.

Are you positive about the overall length of the tranny? Depends on the tail shaft. Some are longer than others.
