great idea and something else we do on Veteran's day and the 4th is call up the Vets we know and just say "Thank You" to them.

They need not be family or friends - - you'd be surprised what an effect a small "thank you" call from someone you barely know can have.

There are many out there sitting around today wondering if they were appreciated and a phone call will remove that doubt completely.

sorry bout the ramblin'

I was a Combat Engineer, hvy. equip. operator....Viet Nam '67-'68, was fortunate to live through the Tet offensive and a bunch of other sh--. What I will always think about is the 3 guys I knew that didn't burn their draft cards or run to Canada and then got killed in action.

I think about them never having gotten married, hearing their babies cry for the first time or being called "daddy". Never feeling the joy of family gatherings at Christmas time, having a steak dinner or any of the other great things we usually take for granted. I salute ....

William Jeltema....Willie Troup.....Tommy Thompson... KIA, Viet Nam, 1967
