My first 'ink'...

My first 'ink'...

It's been a long time comin' but I finally did it! I got my first tattoo! I've wanted one for many years and was never sure what I really wanted. It had to be something that had 'meaning' not something lame just to get one and then regret it later down the road.

Well, back in October of 2005 I spent about 3 weeks sketching and sketching trying to find just the right design. I wanted something that encompassed me and the things I love in life which as most of you know are cars. I had planned to get the tat at Hart and Huntington in Vegas while we were out there attending the SEMA show. They were too busy and so I decided I'd get it when I got back to St. Louis and as time went on, I just never set out to get it.

Well, this weekend I went up to Indiana to visit my bro and while I was there we stopped by a tattoo shop called "The Sacred Apple" and decided to get it done! Keep in mind this is my own, originally designed tat, unique to me (at least up until now). I was so excited to actually have a piece of my own art on my arm...it's cool as hell and I think I'm going to have to get another one some day soon! The whole experience was totally kick-***!

So without further delay...here are the pics...

Love at first stick...

And the final tat...

Comments and critiques are certainly welcome although, obviously I can't 'change' it.

Looks awesome. I've got a few myself...several car/hotrod related. Thats a really good tat! As far as critiques...wont hear any here. Lifes too darn short to fret about what everyone else thinks....just enjoy it!

Edit add on: Just a thought....if you plan on getting anymore....try to stick with a theme or it'll get way out of hand fast. One leg I have car related....the other "mood"/cartoon charactuers. LOL's. I was going through a divorce with lots of drinking and made buds with an upcoming tattoo artist.....who then in turn taught me. Seems I might be in to the 'pain' thing a little. LOL's.
