No, you can't inject glue after the fact and expect it to correct your first mistake. You got ahead of yourself and hopefully learned a valuable lesson. To get a smooth finished product, you needed to have a smooth base to glue your fabric to. Gluing the fabric right over the area the carpet was in, without making the area completely smooth was not going to work. That's why I asked you if putting carpet back in the place where there was carpet originally was an option. That would have been the best and simplest option. Now you need to start over in that same area, and have a smooth area to glue your fabric to.
No one lives forever, the trick is creating something that will.
