My first Kandy Paint-job 1970 impala
These were the beginning steps. It was stripped of most of the bumpers and misc stuff. Then started the big load of body-work.
   The sexiest wheel wells iv ever seen..   The black stuff is guide coat for just seeing the lows and stuff.

  The horizontal panels were somewhat straight.. The others were terrible though.   The trip was there was soooo much old paint on that car.. In some areas I just grinded and blocked it flat with some 80 grit and some panels would come out flat.

I finally found a hell of a nice glaze that sands like a glaze should. Its called evercoat spot-lite. THe stuff sands out smooth....... You aint gotta wait so long for it to dry either.
I filled all the holes the trim was supposed to go on. I tapped tthe holes down with a body hammer. THen I sanded them with 40 grit. THen after that I Kitty-haired / bondod / glazed.    The gangster cars in the background.

That night I sprayed on some primer. THen woke up in the morning and sanded it.
  More body work  Everything primered again to make sure it is right.

I shoulda got more pictures.. Everything was scuffed, door jambs and all. I even painted inside of that bid-*** trunk.. Its in sealer now.
. I HATE IT WHEN MY PICTURES GET MIXED>@!  [img=http://i149.exs.cx/img149/3601/dsc0227910xs.jpg]  NOW we are back to the paint-job in some sealer and some paint. We used a cream tan tow with a silver bottom.  After we sprayed the top we masked it.

   The 1st coat of kandy I dusted on... Now I know better... I think I found that .. If you spray the kandy like a clear but a tad bit less heavier it sprays alot more even.  The bad thing is my harbor freight paint gun was spraying heavy at the tops and bottoms. o | o So I busted out my old gun in an attempt to fix it. I started spraying more heavy and uniform.

 Not perfect but so damn nice.   AFter a few coats of clear.. It still needs to be cut and buffed for that wet look.
