My friends 69 Camaro is off to SEMA

Several pictures of my friends 69 Camaro custom that I have been helping with off and on for the last couple of years. The car started life as a 69SS 4 speed car. It now has a blueprinted LS7, full Art Morrison frame, 9" rear, and a Corvette C5 front suspension. Many more modifications too numerous to mention. He and the folks at Mitch Henderson's Customs have been burning the midnight oil 24 hours a day for the last month to get the car finished for SEMA. They left Mitch’s shop in the early hours of last Sunday for Vegas. These are cell phone images sent to me late Saturday night while the finishing touches to the 69 Camaro were being performed.http://www.hotrodders.com/gallery/da...m/photo_41.JPG

WOW...Friggin beautiful...Do you have any idea of how many man hours they have in the build? What kind of paint did they use? and Do you have any pictures of the interior? Love the build.

Sorry, I mean't finished interior?

It was painted with DuPont water borne paint donated by DuPont. These are all the pics I currently have. I was promised more when they get it all setup at SEMA. I'm hoping some Hotrodders.com fan who lives near Vegas and is going to SEMA will post some hi-res pictures of it. I could not even begin to guess how many man hours are in it. The body work was extensive as the rear was tubbed and the rear quarters were moved out about 2" each side to provide tire clearance. It has been a three to four year project.

Here are several pictures of it in early stages.

Thanks Vince, again, beautiful car. I look at that and I just imagine all the hours of design, concept and re-hashing of ideas that go into a build like that. How many guys where involved on a regular basis? I'm asking for a reason, I'm getting into a build that I would't say is similar (few would be) but, it's as unique. My customer's a bit quirky and wants details of the build kept on the QT until he's ready to reveal. I've got the parts budget worked out but the man hours (as always) is something that is virtually impossible to gauge at this time. This is more for my information than my customers.

Thanks Again
Ray

Total there were about six guys working on it. Chris was the fabricator and is quite the artist with a plasma cutter and TIG. Big Mike and Little Mike were the paint gurus. I forgot to add the car has a full roll cage fabricated by Chris that is a work of art and has to be seen to appreciate. Work on a project of this type would have to be on a cost plus basis as there is no way one could estimate the labor involved. The build on the car swung into full time about a month ago, up to that point it was fairly slow.

I fully understand the cost plus basis and my customer does as well, He asked me "roughly how much labor to do the build", I gave him my patented response and asked him, "how long is the string in my pocket", he said "I don't know", I said "neither do I". He got it after that. I truly appreciate the art and craftsmanship that goes into building a car like that, Kudos to your buddies on this one.

Don't know it was right down to the wire when they completed it.
