My garage smells of a new tool....

As part of the garage clean-up and finishing effort (and partly due to fellow board poster Hippie's "packratitis" thread) I had to make a new "tool" purchase. I have 2 steel "hog pans" full of assorted nuts, bolts, screws, and washers. I decided it was high time to put some of them away, but I needed to know what the sizes were. So, I took a trip to the local Fastenal store. I found a great little size gauge there for $3. I'd post a pic, but my wife left the camera at her work. However, you can go to www.Boltsizeit.com and find the same item I picked up (I got the one on the bottom...). I'd consider this thing to be the best $3 I've spent in a long time.

In a while, Chet.

My garage smeels of a new tool

They come in handy when you're laying out holes in a bracket or radiused corners too.

Youngster

I never thought about that usage. Thanks for the tip.

I've got several that I got in the mail from some company. They are great for identifying drill bits and such. The numbers get harder to see on the bits, but in a second, you can tell what size they are.

Of course, I had bought one before I started getting them in the mail. LOL
