My Girlfriend Says I'm Addicted.....

to sewing machines. Since last Sept, I've picked up a Singer 15-91, Singer 66, Singer 201, Singer 111W153 and of last Saturday, a Consew 225. I got the 201 for 25 bucks along with the desk. I also have a Sewtex Featherweight that I found in the trash that was bought back to life. I've also inherited a Singer 185, a Kenmore machine that does zigzag from the 80's. And upstairs in granny's old apt is a Gimbel's machine.

Keep in mind that I purchased the 15-91 and 66 thinking I could really do a car interior. Those eBay sellers really know how to pull in a novice.

I can kind of relate. I have always been fascinated with the industrial machines. I watched my father use them as a child. I have a Consew 255RB-3 and a Singer 111W. I'm on the lookout for a long arm machine.

The real question is - are you making anything with all of these sewing machines?

Your girlfriend is a wise woman who is wondering why you aren't spending more money on her than on sewing machines.
Home machines have very limited uses in auto upholstery. You can get by with a home machine doing most furniture, but with auto upholstery it's a whole different ball game

You're right about that. But the eBay sellers tell you differently. I learned by attempting to do sewfoam with a Singer 66 and found out it does not work. Hottrodders.com and DanTwoLakes smartened me up for which I am thankful.
