My intake and carb?

I have an edelbrock street master intake and holley 650 carb. They have been sitting for a while. What would be the best way to get the intake clean. It looks as it hadf a nice shine at one time it is pretty bad looking now though. And as for the carb should i just soak in carb clener and then rebuild. I was thinking of having the intake glass bead blasted but i really cant find anyone in the are who will do it for anything close to reasonable.

Unfortunately, nothing is cheap anymore. Glass beading is the way to go in cleaning up an intake. If it's been polished before, you might just need a metal polishing compound and do it yourself. As for the carb, it might still be OK to use. I would check if any dirt or anything got in the carb while sitting. Blow some gentle air into the carb to remove dust, etc. If it doesn't run, you can always take it apart at that time.

Yep, glass beading with low air pressure. I built a 302 Ford several years ago and used the Streetmaster on it. It wouldn't make much power in the upper rpm range, but low end and mid-range was excellent. Throttle response was fantastic.
