Unfortunately, nothing is cheap anymore. Glass beading is the way to go in cleaning up an intake. If it's been polished before, you might just need a metal polishing compound and do it yourself. As for the carb, it might still be OK to use. I would check if any dirt or anything got in the carb while sitting. Blow some gentle air into the carb to remove dust, etc. If it doesn't run, you can always take it apart at that time.

Yep, glass beading with low air pressure. I built a 302 Ford several years ago and used the Streetmaster on it. It wouldn't make much power in the upper rpm range, but low end and mid-range was excellent. Throttle response was fantastic.
