My JGA502 needs parts!

I have an older model Devilbiss JGA-502. Has always been a great tool. Recently the pattern started fluctuating. I disassembled and discovered that the threaded collar in the fan adjustment assembly was cracked into two pieces. I cannot purchase the same part anymore (#jga-4004). I have been advised that the spreader valve assembly (#gti-405) is a direct replacement for my broken part. (This part is from Devilbiss Service Bulletin SB-2-259 for a JGA-405).

Has anyone tried using this newer part in an older 502? I've looked at the diagrams and even found some actual photos and it seems to be slightly different. Will it work in my gun?

Thanks for any and all assistance ya'll can provide.

Get in touch with Devilbiss should get you your answer. I am not sure how much anyone you talk to would know but SOMEONE has got to be old enough there to have heard of the JGA502. Jeeeez that sucker is an old gun now. I wonder when the last one was made, 25 years ago? I bought mine in 1982, still love those guns.
