Hi everyone, just wanted to take a minute to introduce you to my new toy. She's a 1955 Cadillac Series 62. Pretty much all original in black primer with a candy green roof. Here's a picture:
Right now the interior is ratty with a ripped up headliner, worn upholstery & some nasty carpet. The body is straight, undercarriage is solid, and she's mechanically great. I drove her around for about 3 hours yesterday & she drove...well...like a caddy.
I have very modest plans for her, not really a major project. Basically, I'd like to paint her in suede black to protect better than the primer, but I dig the green roof so I'll keep that. I'll try to find a good pinstriper (if anyone knows anyone in or near atlanta...let me know) to stripe the body in green to tie the roof in to the rest a little more. I'll gradually re-do the interior, cleaning it up as nicely as I can on a reasonable budget...or just say screw it & do a really nice black & white tuck & roll. I haven't decided for sure yet.
I'd like to mount some flame throwers in the pipes, because lets face it...those tailpipes through the bumper are BEGGING for it, but I'm not really planning any major performance mods right now.
So anyway, thats my girl, just wanted to introduce you guys. I'm having a hard time finding Caddy resources online, like parts & dedicated forums & stuff like that, so if anyone has any links they'd like to share with me, I'd sure appreciate it.
