My sbc 400 build up, please review
Greetings,
I have been reading many, many posts in regards to the sbc 400 and thought I'd run my plans past you guys. Here goes...
The vehicle is a '41 Chevy pick up with at MII front end and a chevy rear end, around 3.5 gears not totally sure because the tag is missing but by hand it seems to be in that ball park. Vehicle weighs 2900lbs
The engine build up plan is sbc 400, new scat crank, 5.7 rods, KB 18cc dished pistons, vortec heads (64cc) w/z28 springs and worked to .550 lift, perfomer intake (not rpm) and mild cam 204/216. The tranny is 700r4 but might be a t-350 if the 700r4 doesn't work out.
This is a light vehicle and I want a good idle, good vacum and plenty of HP and torque.
What do you all think?
Would you go with a more aggresive cam and a torque converter (TCI Saturday night special) or is this plenty for this vehicle that would be driven on the weekends and occasionally daily driving.
Thanks!
