are my secondary butterflies opening?

is there a way to "see" if they open fully under heavy load?
600 cfm Holey 4160, vaccum secondaries.
I feel a smooth aceleration curve but have my doubts, I used the bolt in the slot trick to force them open but it reacted adversly, it bogged down I guess because there is no fuel shot like in the double pumpers.
Any ideas?
Augusto.

Take the hood off and the air cleaner off and watch it. You might want to tape a mirror on the carb if its too high to see from the driver's seat.

I put a plastic tyrap on the secondary shaft. I then cut the end of the tyrap so it would hit the carb base and slip on the shaft as the secondary moved. After a test run I could see how much it opened buy the angle of the tyrap end. Just put the rap on loose enough to move. Vacuum secondarys will not open by reving the motor in neutral. The vacuum comes from a small port in the primary barrel and has to have a large amount of air going by to creat the vacuum for the seconday opening.

q-jet secondaries do open with the car not running, ( and sounds awsome ) but holley's are a puzzle to me, I was thinking of installing a TPS sensor and a voltage meter to monitor them, has anybody ever done it before?
Augusto.
