It's normal. A higher than stock stall like yours will feel "loose" at a mild rpm like that below its stall point, just takes a little getting used to. The feeling is more noticable on 3200 rpm and up stall converters.

Your stall sounds normal... one other thing that to keep in mind....as big a stall as you have and with your rear gear you may be getting some slipping still from your converter while at cruising speed. Make sure you have a great big tranny cooler. I burnt one up before because of that oversight.

hey,thanx for response,whew!this project has been quite the ordeal,have 4 qt derale pan w/cool tubes,waiting for guage and trans cooler w/fan,only have 26000 gvw tranny cooler right now but no temp guage.so have no idea how hot im gettin around town.
