My TH350 went Bang

My ride (30 Model A Tudor complete with SBC350 and TH350) recently let out a nasty clunk from the gearbox and I lost all drive. It has been a little notchy getting into Reverse or Drive but thought nothing of it.

Anyone any ideas?

I would actually like to swap it for a 4 speed (3 + overdrive). Anyone got any thoughts or recomendations for this one too.

Thanks in advance

Willy (from England)

Sorry to here of the no-go! You probably would want to think it over on the 4-speed instal, verses instally and AOD of a different sort. Upgrade to a newer automatic for fuel savings. The 4-speed requires a great amount of under the dash work. Adding the clutch/brake assembly rack, all the requirements for the clutch, a bell housing fro the 4-speed and so on.
If you are going to install a stick, then I wouldn't waste the time on a 4-speed over the option on a 5 or 6 speed transmission. Since you just lost your T350, upgrade to a 4L60 and add a paddle shifter to your collom.
The price in swaping from auto to stick does not compair to upgrade on the AOD setup. Your money, your ride, your choice. Good luck.
