Mystery posi carrier?

Hey guys and girls

Ive got a posi carrier that i cant seem to identify.was hoping someone would know what it was.

-uses 12 bolts to attach ring gear
-uses c-clips to attach axles
-was removed from a gm 10 bolt rear differential
-is pysically larger than a 8.5" carrier
-ring gear is pysically larger than a 8.5"
-the casting numbers are 17-2 R 3
-uses 28 spline axles
-and its a posi eaton syle carrier

I searched ebay, and found this carrier and thought it looked pretty similar.

Yip thats the one talk about an odd ball carrier must be one hell of a tough unit because its noticably larger than the stock 10 bolt carrier and uses a larger ring gear and bearings yet sit in a 10 bolt rear end

I think you have gotten yourself a type"O" 12 bolt. they were used in oldsmobiles in the early seventies

never hear of a type o 12 bolt?Do you have a link to some info on it?
