OK, I am collecting parts for no real good reason except I want to build something. My newest aquisition is a 1965 Buick 401 with an electronic type/kind of transmission. It is all bone stock and turns over by hand. Something about you can change stall speed of the tranny electronically.
Don't know if its a keeper or a seller, but the price was part of a swap. Once again, I don't really know what I have. Any info out there? |

Yes it is a twin stall speed converter, used originally as a towing option (i believe) but gained popularity with some of the drag guys so they could have a regular stall speed on the street and a higher one for the strip. Went by the name "Switch-pitch".

Thank you Woodz428. I knew the 401 was a decent swap, but I knew nothing about this tranny.
Jack, if it is not used by me, I will let you know first. Going to Charlotte tomorrow. No money due to lost trailer, but I might do something stupid. (From the sofa, a female voice, "What, Again?" |
