I agree, it's hard to narrow it down to six.
I'm 38... Some of my favorite TV shows growing up were: The Dukes of Hazzard Grizzly Adams Mr. Wizard's World American Sports Cavalcade Truckin' USA with Ed Bruce 3-2-1 Contact OK, here's another six: The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau Newton's Apple The A Team CHiPs Gilligan's Island BJ and the Bear Oh, and any Tex Avery, or Hanna-Barbera cartoon. |

I noticed a lot of the shows from the late 60's to the early 80's I never did see, BJ and the Bear, never saw it, I was too busy having fun to watch more than 3-4 hours of TV a week. Now I watch that much almost every night.

I guess we got our first TV around 1959....First things I remember watching were Popeye and Heckle and Jeckle cartoons. Watched the Beav, Bonanza, all those other westerns....My dad and I used to watch wrestling on TV (broke my heart when he told me it was fake), Red Skelton was one of my favorites as was Carol Burnett later on. BTW, everyone after Johnny Carson sucked...........

Probably 95% of the shows listed by the rest of you folks would be on my list of old time favorite shows. That for sure exceeds the six requested. Almost anything from the '80s on - too busy earning a living traveling to strange countries, or, when home, helping raise some kids. Since that time, not much on the tube, and only IMO, not worthwhile staring at while there is a project in the shop, a good book or magazine to be read.

The "Growing Up" part of the Subject really limited the choices of this O.F. because TV was actually younger than I was, when I was "growing up" - - - - ;-(
