name that head...

have a 66-67ish 283 with powerpak heads casting 38845_0. all the info i can find is for 3884520 - mine literally has a space (no 2). Date is K286 which should be Nov 28 1966 - that matches a 3884520 (except mine has no 2 )

Question 1: is a missing # normal?

Question 2: the plugs that came off it are tapered peanuts. but i got the car on trade and have found some "interesting" mechanic work (like torque converter bolts that fall out - 2 of them). so i'm not sure what was in it should be in it. everything i'm reading says the 13/16 flat gasket plugs. I do have an HEI so i believe gap is 40-45.

any help much appreciated.

Common for numbers to be missing or smeared. Friday after lunch at the foundry.
Plugs should be old style flat gasket.

also consider an updated better coil for the HEI if its stock and plug gap at .040 is plenty
