Ok, I am getting frustrated trying to get this to work. I ordered a Edelbrock 1/2 thick spacer designed to maintain the dual plane design of the manifold and it still doesn't seal the outer edge of the large secondary bores properly! Only about an 1/8 of a inch on either side or less is still open when I put the spacer down on the intake. The gasket does cover it all the way though, but I can't imagine it would still seal it up. That 2732 flange may but won't it open up the dual plane design? Help me. I may just call Edelbrock and see what they say. What kills me is I bought this intake on a recomendation from a guy at the local speed shop because he said I could run both spread bore and square bore carbs. I now see on Edelbrocks site they make this manifold in a version that is just for square bore and they claim a 5hp increase over the 2101 intake. I still have not even started this motor up although the intake is on it.

The 2732 is thin enough (1/16") that the dual plane design is not compromised. It may require some clearancing if the linkage hits it, etc..

That small air gap won't affect low RPM effects of the dual plane design? I bet your right, effects would be minimal. I guess I'll try that! Thank you

If you look around some, there are some "insulator"-type gaskets that will seal the spreadbore flange, and are fully separated, side to side.

IIRC, they cost a little more than the 2732, but would ease your mind, plus it actually does insulate the carb from the heat of the intake.
