Name this part
This morning I took off out of the driveway in the Silverado. I stepped on the gas pretty good and all of a sudden it just up and died. I had all power to lights etc, but all it would do is crank. Here is a pic of the culprit.
  BTW the truck is fixed. Weimer came down today and we got it running. Thanks to him it saved me a couple of days of work because I can't reach the part. It was a struggle for him also due to things being rusted up and tight.Kevin

I have electronic ignition. Close though. It is the magnetic pickup in the distributor. Totally destroyed. Pulled the cap off and that was laying in there. Luckily I was ony about 600' from the house when it happened. Bad thing was it was 7* out this morning and I had to push the extended cab longbed back to the house. My wife came out when I had it halfway back. Pushing that heavy thing in that cold of weather kicked my ***** for the day.

Bionic butt more like it. Got more leverage that way. Although when I turned around to see where I was going I almost was off the other side of the road.

That is one of those damn widgit arms, I have needed to replace lots of them, but I can't find an auto parts store that stocks them. LOL

It looks like a clump of rusted screwdriver bits for a black&decker with 3 .22 shells melted to it. What a mess.
Glad you guys found it quick. Something as simple as that would have taken me about 4 hrs to figure out. MoocH
