name this part of transmission

i just took the transmission apart today and i know whats wrong with it but not the name of the piece. its got the friction disks inside and i just want to replace that one part. anyone have the names of those inner parts of a transmission.

the part looks like a bowl with a rod out the back and has friction plates in side.

the encapsulator wsnt introduced untill late 2001 with an extension shaft.

it greatly reduced wear in the plasma housing and they generally reduced failure so i doubt that's his problem.

with so much damage to the friction materials he probably has issues with the high pressure side of the ky pump.

post a pic and model number so we can be sure
