Can some of you help me with suggestions of a name for my '54 Chevy retractable hardtop? Not that it will ever be remembered by anyone or even be widely known, but I want to find a cool name like the legendary "Moonglow", or even like Dr. Chop's "Kustomsled" featured as a hotrodders.com featured project on the home page.

Also, how many of you have named your car or project? What are they?

For some reason I always go with women's names for cars. Right now I'd lean towards Charlene, but It's not done yet so that may not fit. I would wait for paint to name her.

I have not named mine yet, but it's not done either.

Yep, mine's not built yet either, far from it, but it needs a name.

I'm not really thinking of something you would name a person though, like a womans name or anything, rather something more descriptive of it's style or a play on the retractable hardtop or something that stands out about the car, I wish I could think of even one example... I'll try to come up with something along the lines of what I'm trying to find.

Picture a normal '54 Chevy Bel Air hardtop. It's going to be Brandywine Kandy red with a white tuck 'n roll interior, lowered front and back, with a 327 small block with six strombergs, extra teeth on the grille, frenched headlights, "moonglow" style custom taillights and of course the chopped hardtop that retracts into the trunk, apart from the top it's going to be fairly mild, clean and a traditional 50's / 60's style custom I suppose.

I don't know if this description builds any kind of a mental image that might help in suggesting a name.

Going with what poncho said,How about Pamela, as in Pamela Anderson maybe?

I named my truck a couple things the first one was after Austin powers was out in theatres where Austin's car was the Shaguar. Me and my dad were joking around since my truck is a Silverado, why not Shagarado? Kinda dumb but now that the truck is almost done, Im leaning towards more like Shadow, or Nightmare since its black and mean looking.

Actually, these names is just optionally problems. I too firstly considered as their very relevant.

Advice: leave on a street and make name the firstly heard word!
