10 bolt

Why????

If you plan on running some power to it, (I assume you are) why not start with a gm 12 bolt or better yet a ford 9 inch.
After all the ford already has the bolt in axles and the cases can be store-bought already made for many makes/models of cars/trucks.

Just my thoughts

How much are you narrowing could you get away with stock width and different backspacing on the wheels. For all the money that it'd cost why not go with a 12 bolt?

a 12 bolt would cost around $2000. a narrowed 8.5 would be around $1000. and do the same job. it would be narrowed about 6".

These guys have reasonable prices, got an axle etc from them, seems like decent stuff..........You can get just about any configuration you want.
