I don't know how you all felt about todays race, but I didn't like it, except with the winner. I felt like I was watching some kind of automotive roller derby. I wish they would open the restrictions up to where a guy can pass a car, based on how much H.P. he makes, just like the old days. This sucks today. :smash: I watch about 3 NASCAR races a year, I like the long tracks, but I will quit wasting my time.
While NA$CAR really can't do anything about an off track offense, Joe Gibbs sure can and reading some posts on the Jayski site, there are several writers calling for more then a butt chewing for Mr Personality (howinhel did that dork{being my usual kind self} end up with such an attractive wife )
$$$$$$$$ oh he an't the first. they clocked Curtis Turner pulling his race car over 100mph on US1 just north of town back in the day. The traffic was not as heavy as now.Hell I have rode with Herb Thomas at over a 100 MPH more then once I was 15-16 and 10 ft. and bullet proof or so I though back then. Oh IF they had clocked us there woun't had said much. Course Herb was a lot better liked then Scrub. Oh Curtis lost his DL in NC. AND VA. that why he had to fly to most tracks.
If Turner was wild in a street car, it couldn't come close to comparing to his antics as an airplane pilot. Ended up dying in a plane that he was piloting when it crashed, sadly. Not saying he was doing anything wrong when that happened. But back in the day he probably should have met his maker a dozen times.
While I understand why, I really dislike races won on gas mileage and/or pit stops rather then on track performance. It seems to make the win hollow for someone that snuck in - and actually Harvick kinda said that in his post race interview. But it is what it is Congratulations to him and even Junior for a very good run.
Seems to me that all races are influenced in some manner by fuel or pit stops. I have never seen a race or been in one that, that had not mattered. Even the Sat nights can boil down to what happens with fuel or happened in the pits..
I was glad to see the 600 finish like it did. I am so tired of NA$CAR influencing the outcome of races. It is race strategy, there were late cautions that allowed one to get fuel if needed.
Congrats to Harvick!
Richard Childress is in dutch over taking a swing at pile bush after the truck race, after pile (again) dented up a Childress car after the race. This time in retaliation for being passed by Joey Coulter’s Childress Racing truck in the last lap of the race.

Richard had told bush two years ago too knock off the hitting his cars after the race or during it, and if he didn't want to take care of it, he would.
This is what they said on ESPN. They also said and it was confirmed Richard got pile in a head lock and let loose on him, I think that is why pile went to the trailer without sunglasses, to show Richard didn't hit hard.
Would have been fun to watch, a 61 year old guy taking on a 26 year old, goes to show, don't mess with us old people. :nono: :nono:
The local Fox station - running a @#$%$# telethon today. No race. I went through 1800 various channels, regular, digital, HD and whatever - no alternate station. Probably 19 people and all related to the participants, whatever the probably worthy cause may be, watching that telethon vs. thousands that watch a race. I would NOT want to pick up a phone at WXXA in Albany as there are some folks who really get irate. Me - I'll just rant here. I'll watch it Mon/Tuesday on SPEED though will already know the outcome.
Another thing, we should consider sending a congratulatory card to Richard Childress for doing what many of us would love to see done to Kyle Busch. Gramps "picking" on that kid and doing a thumping on his head - nice going Richard!! Of course NA$CAR is all upset officially though I really doubt most of their exec's are - it just helps ratings and as far as Busch - not a nice person and deserves his lumps.
That's good! lol I also heard later that pile had said something like "don't worry about it, old man", when Childress first confronted him. Then the headlock w/attitude adjustment came right after. I would have loved to have seen that!!
Pile actually runs away from Harvic- who's no bad-A, then mouths off to an older guy- while never saying a word to drivers like Burton when pile got HIM pissed off. What a man-less pos.

And on an unrelated note, why does that idiotic Mikey Waltrip feel the need to race for Toyota (understandable, at least on some levels) then decide to do Le Mans- in a freaking Ferrari?
Not like there aren't 'Vette teams he could have rode the coattails of... but they prolly wouldn't have him!

Cobalt Think about it, if you were Chevy would you support Mikey, I sure wouldn't, I really don't think he gets that much help from Toyota. When you have wreck'em Ruttman ( spelled wrong on purpose.) for a driver. :nono: :nono:
Let him go drive someplace else, then we don't have to listen to him when we watch the truck race. If we are Lucky maybe he will take his brother with him, well the next five races are on TNT, so we don't have to listen to him, now for awhile. :mwink:

I actually watched and listened to the start of yesterdays race (didn't have to mute the sound).
I always figured MW got a lot of help from Toyota, to be able to put a three car team together.

When mw first got his deal, you'd have thought dw had been in on the whole deal. He mentioned and plugged Toyota worse than ANYONE I've ever heard- even more than the drivers when they go through their "thank-you's" during an interview. I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed.
Then it was like he had been muzzled- and I believe the network did exactly that, unless he was gonna pay for the air time!

I used to complain about that, DW would go so far as to wear a Toyota logo on his shirt, pretty soon they were all wearing them. I don't think a car owner should be behind the mike during the race. :nono: :nono:

I think Toyota was helping him big time,Then Gibbs started with them. MW became 2nd fiddle. He only has 2 teams now, that young kid he had drives for Jack R or Yates, I'm not sure which one.
I heard now that they might get no penalty, when one of the Cheby teams got fined $75,000.00 for a part on the car and they never even put the car on the track. Sometimes it seems like NASCAR doesn't want Toyota's feelings and PTO. :nono: :nono:

NA$CAR hands out the $$$$ and point penalties on Tuesday's. I have a feeling this one ain't gonna be cheap. While 30# might not sound like much, it does move the weight bias and it might just be enough to go 10 feet deeper into a corner and make it just enough for a cheater's win.
