Nason Metallic Help

Hello Everybody!

Im working on a BMW hood

My problem was when applying my first streak of paint my second streak started to dry forming little tiny dust balls after curing felt like sand paper i'm guessing , dry spots!

Temps were around 77+ and i was using standard nason reducer, so i picked up nasons slow reducer and started a second run.

first streak was wet, second wet as the first now the 3rd was another story becuase first and second were drying before my eyes

to make the story short i used more paint then i expected to cover everything thanks to the forum i remembered somebody mentioning the drop coat technique which made everything even.

all in all everything turned out great expect for the inexperience i have. i want to make sure i dont have this problem again !

thanks in advance

mike

btw do u think the sata rp 3000 would of kept it wet due its repuatation to keep things wet haha

Nason oreinted blue matallic
Nason reducer slow
Gun: iwata lph400
Needle 1.3
pressure 16-18
distance 4-6 inch
temp varied high 70+ to low 63

lph400 is a slower paced gun, but i wouldnt think you are moving that slow to have paint drying before your eyes.

Maybe you are putting to thin of a coat on? Are you getting actual streaking with the metallic paint?

hello

When i mentioned streak as in 50% over lap but i couldn't because the wetness disappeared , my gun pace was close to 3 to 4 seconds per foot.
