Try www.500cid.com for a start. Street Rodder ran some articles a few years ago. If I remember right it's 40 some lbs. lighter than a BBC and produces more torque and are cheap in the bone yards

This is a previous post on Caddy power. http://www.hotrodders.com/cgibin/ubb/15/003462
It covers alot of the info, and has a few links as well. Depending on what you want to do, the Caddy may, or may not be for you. These motors like to "Tug", not "Rev". For most, your entire way of thinking will need to change to make the Caddy work. 5500rpms are high and a 3.08 gear is race set. Dan |

Hey Jeff.
I to am in the very slow starting stages of building a 500. The old 500cid link is no more. Try this www.hwforums.com/2089 Its a great forum. The caddy puts out some great power. Jeff Schwartz 82 Caddy that weighs 4000lbs, just won the Real street shoot out. He has a pump gas 500 that takes his car to 13.19 in the quarter and 11 lows with a small shot of nitrous. All with 2.73 gears! They make some tourque. Good luck. HG |
