Quick answer, no. LT1 heads will not fit an early sbc. The LT1 is a reverse flow engine in that coolant flows in the reverse direction. The coolant ports (as well as others I believe) do not match up.

Do a search, tons of info recently here.
There are similar in some aspects; crankshafts, pistons, rods, valvetrain, and a couple other tihings interchange. Heads, water pump, intake, distributor, timing set are all different. |

It has been done, but the coolant ports have to be welded up heads re surfaced new ports drilled,In the end its not really worth it,I had a website where they put LS series heads on a FORD
but then my bookmarks went bye bye .Shane |

As was mentioned, it could be done (but really what can't these days). But its not really a viable solution and will be more expensive than almost any other alternative.
