Happy Birthday and it looks to be an '80-'84, 2 bolt main, 305 CID SBC from a car or truck.

I work overnight as well. Anyways, about the heads... I don't have much information for you. I don't know of anywhere that will tell you what a particular engine block casting number came with for "options" such as heads/intake/exhaust. What I do know is that there was no mention as far as a power rating (low/high). Being a 305, 2 bolt main... I'm going to say it wasn't anything very special. Probably 1.72" int. and 1.50" exh., small ports int and exh. What are you planing on doing with this block?

Give us the suffix and there's a chance the engine can be linked to a specific vehicle. This will narrow down the head choices to what was installed as standard and optional equipment that year. Oh, and we'll also need the date code from the back of the engine, opposite side from where you got the casting number.

Happy-happy, BTW!

Heads are "most likely" #601 53 cc chamber, or #416 58 cc chamber.
